Living in Orlando and DJ'ing since 1996, I host a radio show called 'Filtered Sunshine' on Tuesday mornings from 6am - 8am on wprk 91.5fm (winter park, florida). The show features vintage beats mixed with future frequencies... and everything in between.
I don't try to imitate any one style or DJ, but I have been forever influenced by DJ food, Coldcut, James Lavelle and DJ Shadow. I liken my style of mixing to a film soundtrack. Much like a movie progresses with an introduction to characters, plot developments and conclusions; I strive for the same with sounds and progressions. Utilizing multiple genres to complete the story is the most important factor to the mix. I would like to express to the listener the importance of these classics and how they influence and bond to current and future sounds.
