New Traditionalist Radio, a RIDSON project

Sean Anderson

Saturdays, 6 - 8 pm // REPLAY! Tuesdays+Fridays, 11a-1p

hey folks- once again, i'm out of town this weekend, so i'm entrusting the show to the always reliable volta robot. enjoy! i'll probably let the REAL WEST show replay next week, too, as it was so goddamned good. downloads are available now as well!

TRUE IF DESTROYED were amazing! As were the SIDE EFFECTS before them! ALSO "podcast" "download-on-demand" "archive" "whatever you want to call it" now available at Real Public Radio Network! Download mp3s of programs as they become available

future guests to include REAL WEST (anti-folk from allentown) the REFLECTORS (w.phila hometown hero two-piece) and EVAN GREER (riotfolk!) Check back for dates!

New Traditionalist Radio on Radio Volta operates on a loosely rotating weekly schedule, featuring: (1) local live performance (2) local recordings hailing from philadelphia+around the country (3) musical essays/discussion points/debates and (4) freeform programming at the programmers’ discretion. We need help with 3/4 of these, specifically:
(1) We want you, phila-area music-makers, to come play live on Radio Volta! We have a small but cozy studio that we'd love to get shaking with the music you want to make. The shows are engineered by myself and my partner, Missy Risser. We have a bit of audio engineering and recording experience, and have a definite vision on methods of recording we’re anxious to share. All performances are recorded in stereo to 1/4” tape, mixed live during the performance. Copies of these recordings will of course be made available to you in any format you desire, but masters will be maintained by us (possibly for use in future non-profit endeavors, with your permission and approval). So, if you are a phila-area music-maker, and you'd like to drop by and make some music, drop a line... email newtrad[@]radiovolta[.]org
(2) We want you, phila-area music-makers [again], to send your recordings to Radio Volta! We aim to collect the most comprehensive library of independent local music anywhere, be a part of it by emailing new_music[@]radiovolta[.]org for submission instructions!
(3)We want you, RadioVolta listeners, to chime in on matters relating to the production and consmption of music and culture! These discussion shows are usually around a rather specific theme, so listen in and email your thoughts to be read on the air or send an IM to VoltaRadio and we can share some thoughts and opinions....

Radio Volta has a long history of dedication to independent political and cultural thought and expression, and by providing local, independent music another live performance outlet and chance for documentation, New Traditionalist Radio hopes to add another link to the chain of sustainable cultural critique. And we want your help. Can't wait to hear from you... email: newtrad[@]radiovolta[.]org
